These are the colorful Bougainvilleas of my uncle. When we visited them a few weeks ago, I was fascinated the colors of these flowers. I probably have this flower in our yard if only my mother allows me to plant this. My mother doesn’t like this flower because of its thorny and woody vines. But for me, it is perfect to plant on the fence lines. The thorns may help us protect from thieves.
According to Wikipedia, the bugambilia is scientifically called the Bougainvilleas and are popular ornamental plants in most areas with warm climates, including Ethiopia, Indonesia, Aruba, the Philippines, Thailand, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Vietnam, Malaysia, Australia, Greece, Turkey, Cyprus, Singapore, the Mediterranean region, the Caribbean, Mexico, South Africa, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates and the United States in Arizona, California, Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, South Carolina, and southern Texas. Locarno in Switzerland, with its mild Mediterranean climate, is famous for its bougainvilleas.
